Art in Florence

I know, that you know it's hot in Florence. With that said, yesterday it was 105 degrees and they had to shut down the Uffizi Gallery because it was 115 degrees in the museum and the air conditioning broke. People were passing out in the museum. Luckily, we were not at the museum. Today we were up early and took a 9 am tour of the second floor of the museum with a guide and a group, and then did the first floor on our own. We've downloaded the Rick Steves audio guide to Florence and it's really good. We used that for the first floor of the museum and it gave us lots of insight into some cool paintings. After the gallery we came back to the hotel for a cold shower and to escape the sun. We booked a few things for Rome and then headed out for lunch. After lunch we went to the Bargello sculpture museum which houses some great work from Michelangelo as well as Donatello. Back at the hotel after taking another cold shower, we are just chilling out until the sun goes down and then are headed to a wine bar on a recommendation from a friend which looks great.
