Rome Continued

Image
Ok - we are in our last week in Italy. It has been quite a trip. We have eaten and drank well and seen the sights. With our last few days upon us Chloe and I are searching for more pasta, more art and looking for some fun things to do at night also. A subway is a subway Haven't had a bad slice yet... Spanish Steps Mangiare A cool fountain we found!  Another cool spot we stumbled across  Contested best cappuccino in Rome Cool old temple/church in Rome, wow, who knew there was so much history here?

Roma!

Rome is pretty great. Really beautiful and so far pretty accessible. We've been walking through the city and have seen a lot. Yesterday we did an early morning tour of St. Peter's church and the vatican museums. Very holy. The church is big, the Sistine Chapel is amazing. Cacio e pepe at Roma Sparita. This was voted Rome's best Cacio e pepe, it was quite delicious. (Rec by Matt Elkind) Fried stuffed olives and fried zucchini flowers. Our air bnb! 7 am Selfie before the vatican museum tour Ok, I guess we'll eat!

Last Days in Florence

Tonight is our last night in Florence. Wow, what a city. The cuisine, the history, the art - it's all spectacular. I can't believe Chloe and I have been away over 20 days. What an incredible experience this has been so far. Today we went to Piazzele Michelangelo which gives you panoramic views of Florence. It was amazing. It is a nice hike from where we are staying and has a good incline so we got to burn off some of the calories we've been putting into our bellies. After the Piazzele we went to Boboli gardens which also offers incredible views of the city and a beautiful, calm garden landscape. Next we went to the Accademia Florence and saw The David. It was pretty cool. Finally we came back to the bnb to rest in the air conditioning, nap and drink some water. This evening we went out to a wonderful restaurant not far from us call La Buchetta. It was extraordinary.  We had a greek salad and spinach/ricotta raviolis to start. I had the filet minot, and chloe had a sliced ...

Getting to know Florence

Octopus Salad: Evening Arno: Wild Boar, prosciutto and tuscan sausage and some good cheese with a sweet onion sauce. The chive was tasty too. This was like a cod pudding. Delicious. Meatballs! Our new digs in Florence Sun-stroked: Entrance to our airbnb:

The heat will not deter our mission to continue to eat pasta and sandwiches everyday.
